Possibly the greatest Bah Humbug excuse ever! Don’t bother buying any Christmas presents or making any plans, none of us are going to make it that far. Just in case you haven’t heard….

“The end of the world is nigh, or so apocalypse observers would have you believe. The Mayan and Hopi Mesoamerican Long Count calendar may have begun in 3114BC and continued unerringly ever since, but it comes to an abrupt halt on 21 December 2012. Hence, the belief gaining ground among those who fall for this kind of thing that the cosmos will cease to exist in 12 days’ time.”

So why not join us for a very special Fusebox night featuring a very special line-up of Dave Kane’s Rabbit Project which may literally be its only performance…here’s the latest.

DAVE KANE’S RABBIT PROJECT ORCHESTRA

Dave Kane – bass & conductor, Ollie Dover – saxophone, Si Kaylor – saxophone, Tom Challenger– saxophone, Si “Bobby” Beddoe – trumpet/flugelhorn, Oliver Dover – bass clarinet, Chris Sharkey – guitar,  Jonny Richards – keyboards, Joost Hendryks – drums, Semay Wu – cello (provisional line-up).

And yes it may well be the only gig with this special Line up!! N.B I  didn’t mean this quite so literally when I first wrote it as below:

Rabbit Project’s initial CD “The Eye of the Duck” was released in 2009:

and new material is being prepared for another recording in early 2013. This will be the music’s first performance and may well be the only appearance of this special line-up.

BUG NUTS

James Mainwaring – saxophone, Jonny Richards – keyboards, Mick Bardon – bass, Tim Horne- drums/electronics

After Roller Trio and Space F!ght, another band featuring the talents of James Mainwaring  ”playing jazz disasters and free improv”. Jazz disasters seems particularly appropriate as BugNuts seem to have also
been inspired by the news….

“Yeah we were talking about the end of the world thing and we were going to base our set on it, maybe making a video to project and yeah advertise it abit..
James”

THE BAD SANTA COLLECTION

Seeing as the end is nigh, Armagedon beckons and Christmas is under serious threat, you’ll just have to put up with selections from my vast collection of dubious Christmas recordings between the bands. After all, it could be your last chance. How can you resist titles and artists like these?

SANTA CLAUS GOES STRAIGHT TO THE GHETTO – Snoop Doggy Dog
YULESVILLE – Ed “Kookie” Byrnes
JOY TO THE WORLD – Lalo Schifrin
DECK THE HALLS WITH BOOGIE WOOGIE – Katie Webster
THAT CHRISTMASY FEELING – Johnny Cash
SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN – Booker T. & the MG’s
LET’S UNITE THE WHOLE WORLD AT CHRISTMAS – James Brown
IT’S CHRISTMAS TIME IN LOUISIANA – Johnny Allan
I WANT A HIPPOPOTAMUS FOR CHRISTMAS – Terry Hall & Lenny the Lion
WHITE CHRISTMAS – Jimmy McGriff

Fusebox…the organisation that will stop at nothing to promote a gig and urges you to do the same. Spread the word by all means necessary!
